The mission of the Zumalakarregi Museum is to be a reference research and outreach centre for 19th century knowledge in the Basque Country. We seek to provide keys to understanding the present through an open and accessible space that promotes critical thinking and the spread of history with an innovative interdisciplinary approach.

In our Mission, we want to be an essential reference point for contemporary Basque history and to promote cultural and social progress through cooperation. We want to be an innovative digital center that guarantees the right of access and participation of all people in the generation of knowledge.

Our way of working is based on the five axes of the DTI model: Management, Sustainability, Accessibility, Technology and Innovation.

Management
We promote management based on transparency, efficiency and accountability. It combines cooperation with cultural, educational and institutional actors, enhancing participatory management that enhances the role of the museum in its environment and contributes to the continuous improvement of our processes.

Sustainability
We develop our activity from a sustainable perspective, minimizing environmental impact and promoting responsible use of resources. We are committed to social welfare and management that contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage.

Accessibility
We work to ensure universal access to the museum by continuously improving physical, sensory, cognitive and digital accessibility in all our spaces. Our goal is to enable all people to enjoy and participate actively in equality.

Technology.
We use technological tools in our work processes to improve internal management and optimize the services provided. We use digital solutions that facilitate organization, communication and relationship with users, helping to make the experience within the museum more agile, accessible and efficient.

Innovation
We promote innovation as a cross-cutting axis, with the aim of adapting the museum to new forms of learning and participation. We seek the continuous improvement of our processes and services, responding to the changing needs of society.
